SHOULDER PAIN TREATMENT

A 42-year male, regular gym person for 15 years, who was referred to physical therapy for shoulder pain. He noticed symptoms after picking up a barbell during weight training. Objective findings included a multi‐segmental flexion movement pattern dysfunction and MTRPs in the trapezius, subcapularis, rhomboids and teres minor muscles with deep palpation. The subject was treated with TrP‐DN for a total of two visits. Bilateral scapular and neck muscles were treated, along with implementing a home exercise program consisting of dynamic stretching and muscle stability exercises.

A 56 year female (Teacher) lean body referred for physical therapy for an evaluation and treatment for her multiple joint pain, who has a very active lifestyle. The patient had a medical history of diabetes, mellitus and HTN, all of which she was medically managed for. The patient was referred to PT and reported that she was instructed to perform Active Range of Motion (AROM) and resisted shoulder exercise which increased her pain and resulted in a bad experience. The patient did not return to therapy. The patient received additional treatments for her pain, including steroid injections and several oral medications for pain relief, which didn’t help her much. She has not been sleeping for 2 months because of pain. The patient was diagnosed with a frozen shoulder 9 month back. The current diagnosis is polyarthralgia.

A 32 year female working in the IT sector visited for Physiotherapy for her low back pain. She had severe pain during her work and it affected her Activities of daily living.
Her objective findings showed that there was severe spasm on the surrounding muscle group in the lower back region with radiating pain, SLR test was positive and MRI report was diagnosed as L4-L5 disc bulge. 9/10 was her VAS scale. The subject was treated with a physiotherapy session that included dry needling, dry cupping and myofascial release. The entire back area was treated along with which her posture and feet were analyzed and explained to her in a detailed. Pain was subsequently reduced from 3rd day and quality of movements also improved.

A 27 year male visited Perfect Bounce with complaints of severe neck pain. The subject is a sedentary desk worker. He is a badminton player. On evaluation and assessment, his pain scale was 10/10. He had severe tightness of trapezius muscle and since he overused the muscle, there were MTrP’s too. Based on his postural analysis findings on every view, there was focus of Dry needling, Dry cupping and Myofascial release on that region for less than a week. By the end of the entire physiotherapy session and procedure, the subject’s score of pain reduced to 2/10 and he felt delighted, he was also able to play his game pain-free. The subject was also educated and instructed about the postural correction techniques at his workplace to prevent re-occurrence or re-injury.

A 27 year female sustained an ankle injury while working out in the gym. On assessment, there was visibility of intense swelling and she was on severe pain with a VAS scale of 10/10. One of the challenging part of this subject was that she was an air hostess and she had to wear heels as a part of her work ethics, due to which she was on leave for a couple of days.

A 74 years man had visited us with complaints of inability to walk and balance appropriately on his own and he always needed assistance for his activities of daily living.
The subject was accompanied by his daughter all the time. On assessment and evaluation, it was found that the patient was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease which was the sole reason for his deterioration in his movements.
